The programme prepares technically sound and strong performers adept in varied movThe programme is powered by Attakkalari’s huge expertise and experience gained over the years through working with some of the most distinguished international choreographers, composers, teachers, light designers, digital artists and masters of Indian performance and physical and traditions. A carefully crafted internship programme at Attakkalari also offers students much needed work experience that helps them to build their careers. Apart from equipping young dancers with performance-oriented skills, the programme also aims to provide them with pedagogical skills to conduct classes on their own in the future.

With a comprehensive approach to building a career in dance, the Certificate Course in Movement Arts and Pedagogy inculcates students with discipline and the capacity to work with tenacity. The emphasis is on introducing students to physical skills and safe practices while nurturing their creativity and providing them with experience in pedagogy. The course is linked to other educational initiatives of Attakkalari so that students get opportunities to develop their practice and ensconce themselves in the national and international network of dance.

Eligibility, Audition & Application

The Certificate Course in Movement Arts and Pedagogy is aimed at young people who are passionate and committed to studying contemporary dance in a professional and academic setting with opportunities for gaining work experience through an apprenticeship programme. Entry into the programme is granted based on audition, application and interview. Aspiring dancers who are 16 years or above with a Plus 2 or equivalent qualification are eligible to apply.
